Dayton School District is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to lead our Elementary Emotional Growth Center classroom.  This individual will work directly with our students who have services outlined on their Individualized Education Plans in the area of Behavior or Social Emotional Skills.  This individual would be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the specially designed instruction for all qualifying students, as well as case management duties.  They will work collaboratively with special education teachers, paraprofessionals, general education teachers, counseling staff, and administration, to coordinate schedules for services and any necessary consultation.  They will work to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff while becoming an integral part of the special education team and the Dayton community.  Salary will be based on experience and placement on the licensed salary schedule.

  

Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; and use hands for fine manipulation, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

 

Work Enviroment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to bodily fluids or blood borne pathogens. The noise level in the work environment varies.
